ネイルサロンの利用は、まだ多くの人にとって身近な存在とは言えないが、一度その魅力に触れると通い続けたくなる人がいる。その理由を探るため、長年ネイルを愛し、サロンへ通い続ける方々に話を伺った。

For many people, visiting a nail salon is still not standard practice. Yet once they discover its appeal, many find themselves coming back time and again. To uncover what keeps them returning, we spoke to people who have loved nails for years and continue to visit their favourite salons today.

　以前からお世話になっていたサロンが、新しい店舗でダイヤモンドネイルを始めると聞き、最初は興味本位で施術してもらいました。実際に身につけてみると、やはり本物は輝きの格が違い、その魅力に惹かれて、10年以上通い続けています。貴石は一度購入すると繰り返し使えるため、少しずつ集めながら、気分に合わせて選んでいます。最近のお気に入りは、シトリン、タイガーアイ、ルビー、サファイア。ダイヤモンドと組み合わせて配置してもらうんですが、毎回雰囲気が変わることも魅力の一つです。本物のダイヤモンドを指先に纏うと、自然と背筋が伸び、モチベーションも高まります。

I was already a client when f’bloom introduced diamond nail art. At first, I tried it out of curiosity, but the moment I wore diamonds on my nails, I realised there was no comparison. The brilliance of genuine diamonds is truly exceptional. I was instantly captivated, and I’ve been coming back for more than 10 years since.
Once you purchase the stones, they can be reused, so I’ve gradually built up my collection and choose different stones depending on my mood. My current favourites are citrine, tiger’s eye, ruby and sapphire. They’re arranged alongside diamonds, and I love how each combination creates a different look. Wearing genuine diamonds makes me stand a little taller and gives me an extra sense of confidence and motivation.
Diamond nail art requires exceptional skill, and that’s another reason I continue to visit “f’bloom”. Whether I’m treated by the owner or any of the other technicians, the workmanship is always meticulous and beautifully executed. Knowing I can trust them to achieve a flawless result gives me complete peace of mind.

　ネイリストのCulumi.さんはもともと知り合いで、2年ほどhigdenに通っています。クリア系のデザインを長い間やっていたのですが、Culumi.さんがしていたニュアンスネイルの可愛さに惹かれ、そこからはニュアンスアートをお願いしています。最近はカラーのイメージやその時の気分だけを伝えて、デザインはお任せしています。今回は、以前使ってもらったパープル系のインクが可愛かったので、それを使ってデザインしてもらいました。
　Culumi.さんが作るニュアンスデザインが大好きで、higdenを選び続けています。アート作品を見るときも、具象的なものより抽象的なものに惹かれることが多く、形や色が自由に重なり合うような表現が好きです。抽象的なデザインのニュアンスネイルにも同じような魅力を感じて心にフィットする感覚があり、今も続けています。

I’ve known my nail artist, Culumi., for quite some time, and I’ve been visiting “higden” for around two years. Before, I wore mostly sheer, minimalist designs, but I fell completely in love with the beautiful abstract nails Culumi. was creating. Since then, I’ve been asking for nuanced, artistic designs instead.
These days, I simply tell her the colours I’m drawn to or the mood I’m in, and leave the rest entirely in her hands. I recently remembered a beautiful purple ink she’d used on one of my previous sets, so I asked her to incorporate it into the design.
I keep coming back to “higden” because I absolutely love Culumi.’s creative approach to nuanced nail art. Even when I’m looking at artwork, I’m naturally drawn to abstract pieces rather than realistic ones. I love compositions where colours and shapes overlap freely and are open to interpretation. I find the same kind of beauty in abstract nail art – it resonates with me in a way that’s deeply personal, which is why I continue to wear it.

　以前は別のサロンでカラーリングをしてもらっていたのですが、NAILS INCが職場の近くにできてから10年ほど通い続けています。NAILS INCのポリッシュは発色が良く、ネイリストさんの技術やもサロンの居心地にも満足しています。
　週に1回はサロンに来ているので、ツメが伸び過ぎることもなく、予定や気分に合わせてカラーを変えることができて、きれいな手元を保つことができるのも嬉しいです。30分ほどで施術してもらえるので隙間時間にできるし、定額で通い放題のコースにしているのでカラーが取れてしまった時でもすぐに駆け込めて助かっています。
NAILS INCのベースは6種類あって、保湿や補強、速乾など、その時のツメの状態に合わせて選んでもらっています。カラーは、『GELEFECT』という仕上がりがジェルっぽくなるシリーズが好きで、よく選んでいますね。

I used to visit a different salon, but I’ve been going to “NAILS INC” for around 10 years now, ever since they opened near my workplace. Their polishes have excellent colour payoff, and I’m always impressed by the skill of the technicians and how welcoming the salon feels.
I visit once a week, so my nails never get too long, and I can change the colour to suit my plans or my mood. I love being able to keep my hands looking polished all the time. Treatments take around 30 minutes, so it’s easy to fit an appointment into a busy day. I’m also on an unlimited monthly membership, which means I can pop in straight away if my polish chips or peels.
“NAILS INC” offers six different base coats, each for different needs such as hydration, strengthening or quick drying. The technicians choose whichever suits the condition of my nails that day. As for colour, I often go for the ‘GELEFECT’ range for a glossy finish that gives the look of a gel manicure.

　長年ジェルネイルをしていたのですが、地ヅメが薄くなり、割れやすくなってしまい、仕事柄お客様に触れることも多いので、割れてしまうのは良くないなと思って、ネイルケアに切り替えました。
　Instagramでハンドケア専門のサロンを探して、最初に来たのがこのサロンです。初めてハンドケアをしてもらった時、地ヅメを強くしたいという理由だったんですけど、想像以上に手元がきれいになって、地ヅメだけどジェルネイルをした時みたいにテンションが上がったんです。それに感動して、ずっと通っています。このサロンのこだわりが、“ツメ本来の美しさを活かすこと”なので、私が理想としているツヤ感を出してくれて嬉しいです。
　自分の顔や体は、鏡を見ないとなかなか見えないけど、常に視界に入る手元が整っているとテンションが上がるので、続けています。

I’d been wearing gel nails for years, but over time my natural nails became thinner and more prone to breaking. As I work closely with clients and often use my hands, having broken nails wasn’t ideal, so I decided to switch my focus to professional nail care instead.
I found this hand care salon on Instagram, and it was the first one I visited. At first, my only goal was to strengthen my natural nails, but after my first treatment I was amazed by how beautiful my hands looked. Even without gel polish, I felt the same excitement and confidence I used to get from a fresh manicure. I was so impressed I’ve been coming back ever since. One of the salon’s philosophies is to enhance the natural beauty of your nails, and I love the healthy, glossy finish.
You don’t see your face or your body all the time without looking in a mirror, but your hands are always within sight. Having well-groomed hands genuinely lifts my mood, so I continue to make hand care part of my routine.
